Things that are and things to come for the Society’s publications: a myopic viewpoint Available to Purchase

Several impending changes involving the Journal are discussed. These include proactive steps to facilitate publication of papers dealing with practical applications and of papers that may be helpful in the teaching of acoustics. Also discussed are virtual journals, the association of the Journal with Acoustic Research Letters Online (ARLO), possible changes in the handling of manuscripts, the desirability of encouraging good and concise writing, and the imposition of mandatory page charges for lengthy articles.
