Theory and Applications of Acoustofluidics
Transmitting acoustic waves into and through fluids and fluid suspensions produces complex transport phenomena that is remarkably useful at small scales, ideal for a collection of new applications in medicine, chemical processing, energy storage, propulsion, and more. This special issue presents this new discipline of acoustofluidics via a collection of fundamental to applied contributions on acoustic streaming, acoustic wave propagation and phenomena in bubbles and cavities, particle manipulation, and solid-fluid acoustic interactions.
