A double mirror harmonic suppressor has been constructed for use in the experimental hutch on hard‐x‐ray beamlines. The apparatus consists of two flat, gold‐coated float glass mirrors mounted in a face‐to‐face ‘‘periscope’’ arrangement. This device reduces the second harmonic to 0.5% of the total flux (much better than monochromator detuning) while retaining ∼50% of the flux at the fundamental.
