In situ calibration technique of time lag between nonsynchronous, ultrafast wave form digitizers with a sampling frequency of 1.35 GHz has been developed for application to the dual homodyne receiver system for the ion Thomson scattering experiment. By making use of the proposed calibration technique, time lag between two nonsynchronous digitizers is measured with an accuracy of ±0.015 ns. The present calibration method is applicable to any other multichannel digitizers system for simultaneous measurements, such as cross‐correlation diagnostics between high frequency, broadband signals, or measurement of ultrashort pulse wave forms in a single shot.
