This special topic in Physics of Fluids is dedicated to young investigators (mainly Ph.D. and postdoctoral students) who can be considered talented and emerging researchers in the fluids community.
They have been selected among numerous students around the world, not only for the impact of their work but also because of their enthusiasm and professionalism, which I observed firsthand either during some chats at conferences, by enjoying their talks, or by working together with them.
This special topic features contributions from scientists of many nationalities working all over the world—for example, Brazilian, Indian, Chinese, and Italian scientists working at Swiss, German, Danish, and Spanish institutions, respectively. In addition, these articles address a wide array of topics, including magnetic hydrodynamics turbulence, fracture in extensional flow of polymers, suspensions rheology, micellar solutions, colloidal glasses, and vibrating bubbles, to name a few.
