Experimental measurements of detonation velocity as a function of charge length for Composition B‐3 and PBX‐9404 are reported. Initation was by a 200‐mm‐diam baratol lens. A transient decay time of about 10 μsec was observed in Composition B‐3; no transient could be measured in PBX‐9404.
