From 25 to 28 March 2024 at B. Verkin Institute for Low Temperatures Physics and Engineering (ILTPE) of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine held an online Workshop dedicated to 50 years of the method of Point-contact Spectroscopy (PCS).

The PCS method was developed by Academician of the NAS of Ukraine, Professor Igor Kindratovich Yanson at B. Verkin ILTPE of NAS of Ukraine, which was marked by the publication of a seminal paper in the journal ZhETF in 1974.1 The PCS method based on a physical phenomenon associated with the redistribution of the energy of electrons passing through nanometer-sized metal contacts at low temperatures. Since the size of the point contact becomes less than the mean free path of electrons, then, passing through the contact, the electrons gain excess energy equal to eV, where V is the voltage applied to the contact, e is the charge...
