The journal “Fizyka Nyzkykh Temperatur/Low Temperature Physics” (FNT/LTP), founded by B. Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ILTPE NASU, Kharkiv) in 1975, regularly publishes special issues devoted to topical scientific problems or related to the jubilee dates of famous scientists. The current Issue is devoted to recent topics in the physics of two-dimensional and quantum materials, but it has its own peculiarity. Namely, on February 24, 2022, the unprovoked aggression of the russian federation into Ukraine began. At 4 o’clock in the morning, artillery fire began to be heard in Kharkiv, and a couple of hours later, russian tanks and armored vehicles were in the suburbs of the city, which is located only 30 km from the border with russia. The fighting began on the ring road, and russian subversive intelligence groups infiltrated into the city. Shooting could be heard...
