May 3rd, 2015 marks the 70th birthday of the outstanding theoretical physicist, educator, and scientific journalist and advocate, Vadim Mikhailovich Loktev.
Vadim Mikhailovich is a native resident of Kiev, and graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev in 1968. His scientific activity is inseparable from the Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics, which he joined in 1967, while still an undergraduate student, and later becoming a graduate student under A. S. Davydov. Today Mr. Loktev is the head of the “Davydov” Department of Nonlinear Condensed Matter Physics.
