The Madelung constants for the 4–4, 3–5, 2–6, and 1–7 tetragonal perovskite structures have been calculated for axial ratios α=c/a varying from 0.90 to 1.10. Least‐squares fits expressing the Madelung constant as a function of (1—α) are reported.
