In this paper we present some results for regular diatomic chains whose unit cells contain more than two atoms. Using the transfer matrix method and certain theorems due to Hoffman and Mazur we show the band structure of the frequency spectra for chains whose unit cells contain three and four atoms. Finally we derive the constant term in the frequency spectrum of a disordered diatomic lattice.
