A method of calculating the bulk response of an inhomogeneous plasma in the zero‐temperature approximation is extended to include the presence of a uniform magnetic field where again the process of resonant absorption is of prime importance. Calculations are presented which show the transmission and reflection coefficients of a cylindrical plasma in a parallel plate waveguide. Experimental results obtained in rectangular waveguides are given to demonstrate the degree to which the zero‐temperature models and the solution of the resultant singular equations may predict physically realizable values for the plasma admittance.
