Focus on Imaging Methods in Granular Physics

This Focus Issue reviews methods for acquiring microscopic particle properties and for connecting them to the macroscopic physics of granular media. A variety of methods are presented, utilizing electromagnetic waves ranging from x-rays to radio waves. These methods provide information in the form of images, scattering, tomographic reconstruction, and the tracking of phase shifts.
