Spin Transition Materials: Molecular and Solid-State
Bistability and its metastable structure are a principal origin of variety in nature. Spin transition and related materials are a platform of such phenomena, and particularly their well-controlled switchable property has provided seminal applications in information storage, colorimetric sensing, ultra-fast photo-switching, nanoswitches, molecular-spintronics, mechanical-actuation, and more. The aim of this Special Topic is to provide an overview on recent progress of this interesting field and look for further developments. Accepted contributions may include the latest experimental techniques, theoretical and experimental studies of all aspects of spin-crossover materials, such as equilibrium and nonequilibrium properties of macroscopic, nanoparticle and nanostructured systems, and also their applications.
