Rare Event Sampling Methods: Development, Analysis and Application

Rare events are important in a wide range of scientific disciplines and the field of numerical methods for rare event sampling has experienced significant growth in recent years. This issue highlights recent progress in this area and includes both fundamental and applied research concerning rare event sampling methods.
