Obtaining Feynman’s path integral, which is a representation for the system’s Green’s function, is essential for many physical problems. In this paper, a symbolic algebra program is presented to evaluate analytically Feynman’s path integral for an interaction of the form F(t)⋅r. Such an interaction governs the motion of an electron in the field of one or more lasers as well as in a static electric field. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.
