Article Processing Charges

APL Materials is an open access publication. Authors of published papers will need to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 2750 USD, which covers the cost of the publishing process. In addition our Open Access license allows:

• The author to retain copyright through a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY) license;
• The reader to use and build upon the work as long as they properly reference it. This means all articles published in APL Materials are freely available to all readers, giving authors the broadest possible distribution of their research.

The ability to pay does not influence whether or not a manuscript is accepted for publication. Editors and reviewers have no access to author payment information and will not discuss charges with authors. Inquiries concerning Article Processing Charges should be addressed to pcr@aip.org.
