Epitaxial films with the structure have been grown by pulsed laser deposition on (100) substrates. X-ray diffraction and cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy results indicate that the films are c-axis oriented, single-domain, and contain relatively few stacking faults and intergrowths. Electrical measurements indicate metallic conductivity to low temperatures, but no evidence of superconductivity.

Although these authors did not determine the crystal structure of the stable form of that they synthesized at atmospheric pressure and they did report the x-ray diffraction pattern of the that they made (it was completely different from the form reported in Ref. 11) and described it as having “low symmetry.”13.
There is one report in the literature of the synthesis of with the structure that does not mention the use of high pressure methods:

Their results may be taken as evidence that with the structure is metastable at atmospheric (or lower) pressure and synthesis temperatures of as used in Ref. 12 and in our thin film work.14.

Pseudocubic indices. At the film growth temperature is cubic. However, on cooling to room temperature it transforms to rhombohedral. The substrate orientation is (011) for the rhombohedral axes.
