A first-version of a parabolic trough loop with molten salt as heat transfer fluid (HTF) dynamic model is presented. It is developed in the Dymola modeling and simulation environment, and uses the EDF ThermoSysPro module library. The reflector and solar receiver are two critical components for the molten salt parabolic trough (MSPT) technology. Therefore, detailed reflector and solar receiver modules have been developed at first. Then a dynamic model of 800m MSPT loop is built. Simulations under a cloud-passing transient scenario are carried out and simulation results are presented in this paper.
