This article presents the results of 3d calculations of the axial-radial diffuser exhaust hood of a powerful steam turbine. The influence of the main geometric dimensions that determines the aerodynamic efficiency of the exhaust hood, on the spatial flow pattern in the exhaust hood flowpath (last stage - diffuser - exhaust hood case) is shown. Calculations were carried out for the inlet velocities field obtained after the row of last-stage blades. The results of calculations of the diffuser exhaust hood for steam turbine with a underslung condenser are given. On the basis of the results of numerical investigation recommendations about the on the choice of the geometric characteristics of the exhaust hood with minimal aerodynamic losses are developed. The work was carried out at the Department of Steam and Gas Turbines of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
