Blacksaddled coralgrouper, Plectropomus laevis (Lacepede, 1801) has a high economic value in Asia-Pacific region. The purpose of this study was to know the histological of digestive system development of blacksaddled coralgrouper larvae. The larvae were obtained from natural spawning in captivity. The study was conducted from hatching to 45 Days After Hatching (DAH) by histological with Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) staining. The result showed that, the digestive system on 1 DAH larvae appeared as a straight undifferentiated tube with a small lumen, mouth and anus still did not open, yolk sack and oil globule still appeared. Mouth and mucosa cell appeared in esophagus; intestine started folding; liver and pancreas developed; yolk sack and oil globule fully absorbed on 3 DAH. Stomach divided into the mid gut and hid gut, acidophilic supra nuclear appeared on 5 DAH. Pharyngeal teeth and taste bud appeared, also microvillus in the intestine; absorption processes in the intestine become more optimal on 8 DAH. Goblet cells appeared on 12 DAH. Cardiac, fundic stomach and pyloric sphincter appeared on 22 DAH. Gastric glands appeared on 34 DAH and continuously developed until 45 DAH. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the digestive tract of blacksaddled coralgrouper larvae started completely developed on 45 DAH.
