People have increasing demand on orthodontic treatment, adult orthodontic treatment is always accompanied by periodontal diseases, including gingivitis and periodontitis. However, the correlation between orthodontics and periodontal health is not clear, which troubles the clinical orthodontist during plan of orthodontic plan. Orthodontic treatment and periodontal health are reviewed in the paper, thereby providing ideals for clinicians to formulate therapeutic schedule and implementing future fundamental orthodontics and periodontalresearch.
