Gadolinium-mesoporous silica (Gd-MS) has synthesized by sol-gel method. The present study is directed to synthesize Gd-MS powders and determine its properties. The result of XRD characterization showed a declining peak along with the gadolinium that has interacted with silica. SEM characterization gives morphological results of gadolinium cladding enclosed by silica. EDX analysis shows the percentage of mass produced by the Gd2O3 and SiO2 compounds were 69.24% and 30.76%, respectively.
