High-performance perovskite solar cells with remarkable energy conversion efficiencies over 22.1% have been reported. The superior photovoltaic performance is due to the excellent optoelectronic properties of organometal trihalide perovskites materials. In this work, we used wxAMPS-1D (Analysis of Microelectronic and Photonic Structures) computer program to model inverted planar perovskite solar cell as p-i-n heterostructure. The simulation results clarified the influence of deep states of the perovskite layer on the photovoltaic performance. Perovskite solar cells with high density of deep states suffer from high total recombination rate, insufficient charge collection, and consequently poor photovoltaic performance.
