The stretching of nanochains is considered, in which the interaction between rigid nanoelements is given by a potential of the Lennard-Jones type. Destruction is taken to mean the loss of the process stability. It is shown that the equilibrium type is determined by the Hessian matrix of the Lagrangian of the system. The loss of stability occurs when the Hesse matrix degenerates. For each chain, discriminant cones of the Hessian matrix are constructed, which divide the space parameterized by the components of the Hesse matrix into regions of stability and instability.
