Hollow cone illumination optics for imaging x‐ray microscopy in the hard x‐ray region has been developed. The optical system consists of sector condenser zone plate and rotary actuator. The sector condenser zone plate is a combination of periodic transmission gratings, which yields quasi‐Köhler illumination. By rotating the sector condenser zone plate around its optical axis in synchronization with exposure time, a uniform flat field without speckle noises can be generated.
