Alternating current (ac) dielectrophoresis was used to deposit single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) made by high pressure decomposition of CO (HiPco) between gold microelectrodes. The SWNTs were suspended as individuals in D2O and 1% of the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). We performed Raman‐spectroscopy studies on the deposited tubes with a confocal Raman microscope showing that we achieved a separation of metallic from semiconducting SWNTs.
