The J‐matrix theory is used to describe the (e, 2e) and (e, 3e) processes on He atom using the the pseudostate method. We compare our results for cross sections of these processes with the results of the convergent close‐coupling (CCC) calculation, and indicate that the insignificant distinction arises between the CCC and J‐matrix theories.
