We solve the Abelian Higgs field equations in the background of a four dimensional de Sitter spacetime and find both static (in the static patch of the de Sitter spacetime) and dynamic (in an inflationary patch of the ds Sitter spacetime) solutions with axial symmetry. We find that the effect of these solutions is to create a deficit angle in the spacetime.
