An overview of recent developments in the modelling of the outer heliosphere is presented. The review focuses on gas dynamic models only and considers (i) global models with and without the inclusion of interstellar neutrals; (ii) the energization of interstellar pick-up ions; (iii) the mediation of the termination shock by cosmic rays, and (iv) the dynamical termination shock.
