The success of endodontic therapy depends on the quality of the obturation or root canal filling. Two commonly used materials for root canal sealer are glass ionomer cement (GIC) and epoxy resin. Glass ionomer sealer can adhere to dentin, creating good density at the coronal and apex areas of the tooth. Epoxy resin is known for its adhesive properties and ability to bond to radicular dentin, creating a hybrid layer penetrating the dentin tubule. The aim of this study is to compare root canal wall density using GIC sealer and epoxy resin. Sixteen mandibular premolars were divided into eight groups, each containing four premolars. Different sealers and irrigation solutions were used for each group. The Kruskal-Wallis Statistic Test showed a significant difference among the groups, with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05). Group E, which used AH Plus sealer and 2% CHX irrigation, had the smallest mean value, indicating the best root canal wall density. Group G, which also used AH Plus sealer with17% EDTA irrigation, had a low mean rank. On the other hand, Group A, which used GIC sealer and CHX irrigation, had a high mean, indicating greater changes in root canal wall density. The descriptive statistical test revealed that Group A had the highest mean, followed by Group C (GIC and EDTA) and Group F (AH Plus and CHX). In conclusion, the study findings indicate that the AH Plus sealer demonstrated the lowest leakage rates in the coronal, middle, and apical thirds when exposed to various irrigants.
