Water is the foundation of life, human health, food security, conservation, economic development and social well-being. Effective management of water resources is necessary for sustainable development of society, conservation for present and guarantee of future generations. The article examines the current state of protection and rational use of water resources, an analysis of water abstraction from natural water sources, water consumption, waste water volume, expenditures of enterprises and organizations for environmental protection was carried out. investments in fixed assets for environmental protection and rational use of natural resources in the Kyrgyz Republic. As global challenges such as climate change, population growth and urbanization intensify, the need for effective water resource management has become increasingly urgent. By applying sustainable practices and joint decisions by all members of society, water can be provided to current and future generations.
