This study investigates the effect of contextualized grammar education on writing performance in English as a second language (ESL). The study’s goal is to look into the effectiveness of incorporating contextualized grammar training in ESL writing classrooms, as well as the impact it has on students’ writing performance. The research aims include analyzing the development in writing skills caused by contextualized grammar education and investigating students’ perspectives of this instructional strategy. A mixed methods research strategy was used, which combined quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies. The study included a sample of ESL students with various language origins. Grammar tests and writing activities were utilized to assess students’ writing skills before and after the intervention. Additionally, questionnaires and interviews were conducted to obtain students’ thoughts and experiences with contextualized grammar training. The study’s findings show that contextualized grammar education has a considerable favorable impact on writing performance in ESL. The use of real-life and meaningful situations in grammar training improved students’ comprehension and application of grammar rules in their writing. The comparison of before and post-test results revealed a significant improvement in the students’ general writing ability. The findings of this study emphasize the need of including contextualized grammar training into ESL writing pedagogy. Educators can improve writing performance and language acquisition by giving students meaningful language usage chances and linking grammar teaching to writing projects. This study adds to the existing literature on second language writing and offers useful insights for ESL teachers and curriculum developers. This study underlines the need of using contextualized grammar education to improve ESL writing ability. The findings indicate that incorporating grammar into authentic writing contexts can lead to enhanced writing skills among ESL students. By applying such a strategy, educators can help to improve language acquisition and communication abilities in English as a second language.
