Light gauge steel is another name for cold-formed steel. Cold formed steel is used in many everyday places, including the workplace, automobile, house, store, factory, and gas station (CFS). One of the fundamental materials used to build lightweight prefabricated structures like stud frame panels, portal frames, and trusses is cold-formed steel. Because of the differences in manufacturing processes, cold formed steel has different characteristics than hot rolled steel. Globally, beams, columns, angles, etc. vary from one another. Cold formed steel members are produced by bending flat sheets at room temperature. Rolling and break push through are the two main techniques used to create cold formed steel pieces. There is utilization of precast hot-rolled steel pieces. As a result, cold formed steel sections are readily available in locations where hot rolled steel sections are not. Greater and more intricate constructions might be made using the cold formed steel components. Cold formed steel sheets and strips typically have a thickness range of 0.4 to 6.4 mm. This research compares the equivalent cross-sectional areas of cold-formed and hot-rolled steel sections. IS 800:2007 is used for the selection of most hot rolled parts. IS 811:1987 is a source for cold formed sections and steel tables. The STAAD is used to choose the sections. Pro analytical instrument determined by moment capacity and effective span.
