The article examines the importance of increasing information and communication competencies among teachers of technical universities in the context of modern requirements for education and professional activities. The article analyzes the main aspects of information and communication skills required by teachers of technical disciplines, and also proposes methods and approaches to their development and improvement. Given the growing role of technology in the educational process, teachers of technical disciplines must be aware of the latest technological trends and be able to effectively use information and communication technologies to teach students. In order to improve the information and communication competencies of technical university teachers, an algorithm for introducing innovative teaching methods into the educational process was developed. This algorithm served to improve the information and communication competencies of teachers at technical universities. Quantitative indicators of tests conducted among the 5 leading universities of Uzbekistan were presented.
