The potential of the digital platform MathCityMap (MCM) to enhance mathematics learning outside of the classroom is examined in this article. Through qualitative and interpretive research methods, we collected data from participatory observation, questionnaires, and photo documentation to understand student teachers’ perceptions of the potential for learning mathematics using MCM in the external environment. Our findings show that the integration of out-of-class learning with MCM digital technology is able to strengthen student engagement, deepen conceptual understanding, and apply mathematical knowledge in real-world contexts. Furthermore, learning experiences outside the classroom with MCM also have the potential to help students hone critical thinking and problem-solving skills when facing various mathematical challenges in their environment. In conclusion, this article recommends that educators integrate MCM into the mathematics curriculum as an innovative effort to increase the effectiveness and quality of the learning process.
