Cajuput oil has volatile properties and easily oxidized so that it can affect its quality. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate the additional of binding agent to cajuput oil for improving its quality. Oleoresin of Dipterocarpus grandiflorus is an alternative as a natural binding oil from Dipterocarps species. This study aimed to determine ratio of Dipterocarpus grandiflorus oleoresin and Melaleuca cajuput oil mixed, and its effect on color properties, specific gravity, and their consumer acceptance on cajuput oil product. The mixtures were conducted with concentrations of 0% (control), 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% oleoresin with cajuput oil. Measurement of colour properties using computer vision analysis method, and specific gravity measurement using the pycnometer method. Meanwhile, consumer sensory analysis was tested on 50 adult panelists by using a Hedonic scale with 5 classifications on texture, aroma, color, and impression on the skin. Data analysis was performed descriptively by using Excel and presented in the graphic. The results showed that the mixture of oleoresin with cajuput oil produced more viscous along with density increased, while color changes to a clear yellow. A recent study was also indicated that these products provided that the additional of oleoresin 7.5% was the most preferred in terms of texture, aroma, color and gave the impression of being moist, easily absorbed on the skin, and aroma lasts longer. It means this functional product can be recommended as a new innovativeness for improving quality of cajuput oil product considered on the consumer acceptance.
