Flavonoids are one of the secondary metabolites that contribute to the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of plant extracts. King Banana Leaf (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana) is extracted with macerations in a methanol solvent. The extract had 13.58% water and contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and steroids. An antioxidant assay was conducted using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil) method with vitamin C as a comparison. The test results showed King Banana leaves have antioxidant activity in the strong category, with an average IC50 value of 41.688 ± 0.445 ppm. Furthermore, antibacterial extract assays against both Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus show a resistant category. Moreover, the extract also contains 9,77 mg of quercetin per gram of total flavonoid content.
