Directional couplers are passive device which primarily is used for monitoring purposes in radio frequency applications. It is also used in a wide range of applications, including antenna feeding, modulators, reflectometers, and many others. This research work describes the design, simulation and implementation of directional coupler using microstrip lines at the frequency of 2GHz. As the result, the coupler can achieve the insertion loss of -0.006db along with reflection loss for four different S-parameter using ADS simulation software.
