Throughout the postgraduate student research study journey, tracking of their profile and study progress requires much effort and time. Postgraduate students often encounter difficulties in managing their studies, and supervisors and faculty members may find it challenging to effectively track and manage large numbers of students. To address these issues, a web-based postgraduate tracking and management system named PostConnect is proposed, which includes various modules, such as research proposal defense, supervision management, postgraduate progress monitoring, work completion defense, candidature monitoring, and a student data dashboard. These modules allow students to plan and manage their studies more efficiently, while faculty and panel members can monitor and manage the postgraduate students. By monitoring students’ progress at crucial points in their study journey, PostConnect ensures that students can complete their studies within the expected time frame, while also streamlining the tracking and management process for supervisors and faculty. Based on our pilot study, it appears that PostConnect has the potential to enhance student outcomes and reduce administrative burden, making it a valuable companion during postgraduate education.
