In Malaysia, the movement control order (MCO) was imposed since 18th March, 2020 to stop the spread of COVID-19 and all higher education institutions are physically closed and all teaching and learning activities are converted to online activities. After more than 90% of the public has gotten vaccination and when the pandemic is transitioned to the COVID-19 endemic, hybrid and full physical teaching and learning activities are coming back. The investigation of students’ learning experiences are valuable as part of student-centric education paradigm. The software tools, online learning platforms and social media resources have become an integrated part of the learning process of undergraduate students. Therefore, it is essential to investigate their roles during COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia by the undergraduates. A survey on the preferences from the software tools, online learning platforms and social media resources aspects by undergraduates of mathematical and IT disciplines was conducted in a private higher institute in Malaysia. The data analysis revealed that online mathematical and free programming tools are the most widely used software, Microsoft Teams as the most effective online teaching and learning platform and YouTube is the most effective social media resources.
