The purpose of designing and developing the Plastic Injection Tool with a vertical design are to process plastic waste into products or intermediate products, to determine the plastic melting temperature for easy injection to determine the tensile load of the printed products or intermediate products, and to determine the total cost required to build the plastic injection tool. The materials used are 3 x 3 hollow iron, 1 mm sheet iron, 25 mm shaft iron, band heater, thermocouple K, PDI Controller rex C100, hand drill holder, and reamer. The steps of the tool’s construction process are: design the tool to be built, perform analysis and safety factor calculations, procurement of materials, tool fabrication/assembly, functional testing of the tool, and data collection from the tool and printed product. This plastic injection tool has specifications including dimensions of 500 x 400 x 1490 mm, power of 440 watts with a barrel volume of 64.26 mm3, the designed mold has a volume of 6.33 mm3, and an average mold filling time of 3.34 seconds. The processed plastic waste has become products or intermediate products with an average weight of 5.14 grams printed at different melting temperatures: HDPE 245°C, LDPE 190°C, ABS 230°C, and PC 265°C. Meanwhile, the tensile load of the products or intermediate products of plastic types is HDPE 216.6 N, LDPE 110N, ABS 153.3 N, and PC 200 N. The total cost of manufacturing this plastic injection tool is Rp 3.840.000.
