Architecture represents silent assets that can show the forces of place, as it is a language, and technology is a means to show that language. The architectural effect varies on the human perception between darkness and light, its psychological impact, and the place’s definition. Architecture goes through stages similar to the stages of human growth, from being a child to becoming an adult, constantly needing technology to adapt to the factors of time, and this technology is urban lighting, passing through slow mutations without radical changes in its structural structure, where the architecture of the place can increase the value of the place. The absence of indicators and strategies related to architectural lighting technology and its role in enhancing the sustainability of the architecture of place in historical and cultural sites). In light of this, the research hypothesis was determined: (lighting is a key strategy in the sustainability of the historical and tourist architecture of the place); because it enhances employment during the night hours, activates the economic aspects, and creates active and effective social hotspots, which are the basic principles of sustainability. Contemporary technology can also enhance that architecture. Urban lighting is an issue that consists of several aspects: standards, city enrichment and aesthetics, place-making, urban environment formation, architectural and urban structure accentuation, and revitalization of urban spaces through lighting and communication technology without making big changes and simplifying the control of essential functions and Promoting economic; promoting economic and cultural sustainability by revitalizing the selling hours of ancient handicrafts in the region. This research paper aims to shed light on (The role of lighting technology as a basic strategy for enhancing architectural sustainability, enriching the architecture of the place, and increasing urban attractiveness). The research found that urban lighting technology is a positive generator of the values and forces of the place, enhances the attractive values of the recipient, and works to create sustainable place architecture.
