Rumoh Aceh is an embodiment of the culture and customs of the Acehnese which its existence is important because it is a form of local identity, wisdom and historical evidence so that it needs to be preserved as a form of responsibility. This study will look at Rumoh Aceh from the perspective of Panofsky’s iconography and iconology with a theory and art history approach (heuristic studies) which later became the basis of the methodology in this research. This approach is identical to qualitative studies so that the emphasis on descriptive aspects cannot be avoided. In general, this research wants to see, among others; The textual form of Rumoh Aceh is seen from the factual and expressional visual aspects, the themes and concepts that are built, and the symbolic value to be expressed. It is expected to be able to contribute in the form of elaborating the dynamics of the history of Rumoh Aceh in the context of meaning (implied or expressed) which can then provide new scientific treasures for the development of multidisciplinary sciences in Aceh, especially art and architecture. The results of the first research are factual visual markers of Rumoh Aceh seen from a unique, attractive, and sturdy traditional building form with all its limitations (expressional expressions). Its style can be categorized as a realistic objective determination that is influenced by the dominant religious system. The second is that the theme and concept of Rumoh Aceh currently leads to a religious system related to the meaning of essential freedom (Islam) which is also an allegory of safety, peace, and purity. The third is about the symbolic values in Rumoh Aceh related to the view of life and the religious system (teaching goodness) as a form of cultural dynamics.
