With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, it has taken the front stage in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 with its disruptive innovation. Many concerns have been raised, which has led to discussion forums and intellectual discourses on the ethical aspect of AI technology. The debate gathers expertise from various sectors, determining the boundaries and articulating what is permissible without sacrificing human values and dignity to bring common good in all aspects of life. This paper reviews some issues and challenges and presents experts’ recommendations from socio-technical perspectives. A Green AI embedded with an ethical outlook is proposed, encompassing epistemological and axiological perspectives with a virtue-based approach with universal values to ensure justice and fairness to human civilization.
