The research deals with the study of the Serial vision in the contemporary urban townscape and its impact on the weaving and composition of the Serial townscape, and thus the evaluation and judgment on the built environment, with its impact on sensory and visual responses and the promotion of visual exploration of the recipient, and accordingly, the realization of the contemporary urban townscape of the city is through Serial visual images And harmonious elements and relationships, based in their configurations on values and preferences stemming from the aesthetics of contemporary urbanism, and when these values and preferences are affected, the visual chain of the urban townscape is exposed to fragmentation, interruption, and loss of visual quality, and thus leads to the lack of continuity of the serial vision, and previous studies did not indicate how to explore and evaluate Contemporary urban townscape based on the serial vision. Contemporary Gulan Street in the city of Erbil was selected for study in this research, due to the technological development and urban renaissance that this city is witnessing. By reviewing the previous literature that dealt with the contemporary urban townscape and its components and the characteristics of achieving the Serial vision, the research problem was crystallized (the lack of a clear vision about the role of the Serial vision approaches in the contemporary urban townscape in particular in the city of Erbil). The most important active vocabulary within the contemporary urban townscape, and the most important findings of the research were the divergence of the design and evaluation approaches to the Serial vision, as the design approaches represented by (coupling, environmental communication, and cohesion) achieved higher values than the evaluation approaches represented by (visual preference)
