Bicycles are environmentally friendly alternative transportation that can replace motor vehicles to reduce the effect of global warming. The use of bicycles has become a hype during the Covid-19 pandemic because cycling is an outdoor activity that is considered healthier. Cimahi City, as a part of Greater Bandung area has also experienced an increase in bicycle users. During the Covid-19 pandemic, cycling is one way to avoid using public transportation which is prone to crowds. However, there are currently no bicycle lanes in Cimahi City, causing the cyclists’ needs to not be accommodated. This study aims to (1) identify and asses bicycle lane routes in Cimahi City, and (2) determine bicycle lane types. Data collection for bicycle lanes was conducted 7.712 km long on 11 road sections. The bicycle lane route assessment method in this study used the 7 principles in bicycle lane route network issued by the Federal Highway Administration (FHA). Meanwhile, the criteria for the selection of bicycle lane type were from the Bicycle Facility Design Guidelines from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing of Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that bicycle route has a score of 79.93. Most bicycle lane routes are recommended to use type A, which is a bicycle lane that is physically protected by using double curbs or planter boxes. There are 4 methods of determining bicycle lane routes that have been implemented abroad, all of which emphasize the safety, security, and comfort of cyclists.
