The scientific approach student worksheet learning media developed needs to pay attention to environmental issues, one of which is waste cooking oil which can be used for soap making using colloidal principles. This study aims to produce student worksheet based on a scientific approach on colloidal concept through making soap from used cooking oil and to find out the responses of students and teachers to the developed student worksheet. This research is development research that uses the 4D model of S. Thagarajan which consists of four stages, namely the definition, the design, the development, and the dissemination stage. This research without the dissemination stage. The instruments used in this study were a teacher needs analysis questionnaire, a student characteristic analysis questionnaire, a student worksheet validation, a student response questionnaire, and a teacher response questionnaire. Student worksheet validation was carried out by 2 expert lecturers. Based on the validator’s assessment, it obtained an average percentage of 95.8% with a very decent category. The limited trial phase was conducted with 59 students of grade 12 science at SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang and 10 chemistry teachers in the Tangerang area. Based on the student response questionnaire, the percentage results obtained with a value of 82.4% in the very good category and the teacher’s response obtained a percentage of 94% in the very good category so that the student worksheet developed is suitable for use in learning activities.
