Textbooks are the primary learning resource for students to support learning in Indonesia. The availability of textbooks that correspond to the scientific elements of the subject becomes very important. In science learning, books need to cover science materials and their applications that lead to engineering aspects. This study explores aspects covering science and engineering in science textbooks. Textbooks that science teachers widely use at the junior high school level were investigated in this study. The samples in this study weresix textbooks from7th-gradejunior high school inthe 2ndsemester on climate change material. This type of research is qualitative research with a content analysis approach. Three observers conducted the content analysis using the "Analytical Rubric of Science and Engineering Practice" (SEPAR). Based on the results, only 2 studied textbooks out of 6 facilitated opportunities for creating and developing science and engineering, while others did not yet meet this criterion. This research revealed that science textbooks still need to improve the balance of science and engineering.
