When students are faced with mathematical problems that require students to represent the problem into mathematical expressions in the form of symbols, pictures, graphs or tables, students have difficulty solving these problems because of a lack of understanding of mathematical concepts. The ability of representation is not only influenced by academics but can be influenced by the use of learning media. One way to improve the ability to represent mathematical models by using ICT-based learning media Nearpod will make it easier for students to understand mathematics learning materials. Nearpod application that has many innovative and educational features to create interactive learning. So this study aims to describe the ability to represent mathematical models for the topic system of linear equation two variable class VIII using a mathematical modeling approach through ICT-based learning media. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research with research variables, namely the ability to represent mathematical models. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII.1 SMP Negeri 26 Palembang. Data collection was done by written method and interview. The results of this study indicate that the ability to represent the mathematical model of class VIII.1 students at SMP Negeri 26 Palembang is in the good category. By using mathematical modeling learning assisted by nearpod learning media, it can help students in solving mathematical problems that require mathematical model representation skills.
